“ Great place to eat. Food was exceptional and the environment warm and inviting. We were close by the fire. The service here is terrific. All were great but we were primarily looked after by Maria and she in particular really stood out. Really great with us all. Thank you too. ”
“ Exceptional!!! Always loved the Punchbowl at Crosthwaite. There was a time, one occasion when we were slightly disappointed in the food but not tonight, it was exceptional!! Every single course was absolutely delicious, I had to restrain myself from licking the plates. Stornoway black pudding, bible and squeak and crispy hens egg to start, gorgeous, pork fillet with sticky pig cheek and a side of leek gratin, beyond words and chocolate and coffee mousse for dessert, just stunning, it was all amazing, congratulations to the chef and team, what a fabulous meal, the best I've had for such a long time. We are staying at the Punchbowl tonight and the rooms as always are gorgeous, relaxing and furnished so perfectly. The staff are warm and friendly, roll on breakfast ”

“ Excellent Sunday lunch at the Punch Bowl Inn. Food done well - limited menu so you know everything is fresh. The staff are nice and attentive. Good vibe for dining - clean and with well-spaced tables. It gets a bit busy so best to reserve. Worth a visit! ”
“ A wonderful evening meal for my wife and I in a lovely setting. Cheese souffle, salmon and guinea fowl, expertly cooked. As good as anything we had in chateau restaurants recently on a trip to St-Emilion! Warm, cosy, friendly ambience, yet still elegant. Refreshingly, we didn’t have to share our dining experience with dogs. Diners with dogs can eat in the inn but in a separate area, allowing all diners to be comfortable. Excellent, friendly service from the waiting staff. With 2 glasses of wine, just short of 100, excellent value. A well deserved 5 stars. ”
